In this interview Henri Tiphagne of People's Watch talks to anchor Gabriel Devadoss about the Sathankulam issue and its current status. Here he also talks about the police reforms, an association for the police officers, custodial deaths and other importent issues that are connected to the Sathankulam issue.




The state government should produce a white paper on the number of reports on police excesses received from judicial magistrates by the public secretary from January 1, 2010 to May 30, 2020, and specify what action was taken on them, the NGO Peoples Watch has said.

Chennai: The CB CID sleuths probing the 'disappearance' of environmental activist R.S. Mugilan, who involved himself actively in anti-Sterlite protests and other pro-people movements, has informed the Madras High Court on Thursday that they have got vital clues in the case.

A status report on the ongoing investigation was filed before the court by the probe team, even as Mugilan's kin and opposition parties questioned the credibility of the probe which confined itself to 'harassing' those close to Mugilan instead of carrying out a credible inquiry.

CHENNAI: The CB-CID police probing the anti-Sterlite activist R S Mugilan missing case on Thursday informed the Madras high court that they have got “important lead” in the case.

Additional public prosecutor R Prathap Kumar made the submission before a division bench of Justice M M Sundaresh and M Nirmal Kumar while producing the status report of the probe in a sealed cover.
