Madurai based Human Rights Organisation, People’s Watch, has urged the State Human Rights Commission, the State Commission for Women and the State Commission for Protection of Child Rights to conduct a joint inquiry into the death of a Class XII girl in Kallakurichi district.

The Universal Periodic Review of India is due in 2022, the run-up to which has already started. This is an event where the National Human Rights Commission is most likely to get exposed.

41 வழிகாட்டல் நெறிமுறை நடவடிக்கைகளை” அண்மையில் தமிழ்நாட்டில் உள்ள அனைத்து காவல் நிலையங்களுக்கும் ஜூன் 14, 2022 தேதியிட்ட சுற்றறிக்கையில் வெளியிட்ட தமிழக காவல்துறை தலைமை இயக்குனருக்கு மக்கள் கண்காணிப்பகத்தின்  பாராட்டுக் கடிதம்

மரணத்தை விளைவிக்கும் காவல் சித்திரவதை, காவல்  வன்முறை போன்ற சம்பவங்கள் தமிழகத்தில் நிகழும் போதெல்லாம்  மக்கள் கண்காணிப்பகம்  பெரிதும் கவலை கொண்டது. இந்நிகழ்வுகள் மனிதநேயம் மிக்க காவல்துறை அதிகாரிகள் உள்ளிட்ட குடிமக்களின் மனசாட்சியை வெகுவாக உலுக்கியது.

People’s Watch has been deeply disturbed by the state of incidents of custodial torture and violence including those leading to deaths that have shaken the conscience of, well-meaning citizens, the government including different sections of the police itself.
