Chennai: Several Tamil Nadu police personnel are set to be arrested for murder in connection with the custodial death of a 25-year-old man in Chennai.

• News The police had claimed that Vignesh had suffered a fatal seizure on April 19
• His family said he had no such medical history and alleged he was tortured by police
• Vignesh was brutally hit from 11 pm to 2:30 am: Executive Director of People's Watch

Human rights activist Henri Tiphange said that a murder case has to be filed against the police officers responsible (who are suspended), the station house officer and those were on night rounds.

“Witnesses and victims need protection and assurance from the Tamil Nadu government,” Tiphange said.
