‘Reopen cases’
The cases booked against the family members of Kartigaisami, when he was absconding, should be reopened by senior officers and reinvestigated. The High Court should take up a suo motu notice and order inquiry into the death as it was a clear case of human rights violation.
The fact-finding team members while interacting with general public in the town were informed that Kartigaisami indulged in threatening the public.
There were several crimes registered against him.
However, the People’s Watch opined that the police had foisted cases against him and thus made him run for safety.
