மதுரையை சோ்ந்த வழக்குரைஞரும், மனித உரிமை ஆா்வலருமான ஹென்றி திபேன் என்பவர் சென்னை உயா்நீதிமன்றத்தில் வழக்கு ஒன்றை தொடா்ந்திருந்தாா். அந்த மனுவில், தான் அளித்த புகாரின் அடிப்படையில், இந்த வழக்கை மீண்டும் விசாரிக்க தேசிய மனித உரிமை ஆணையத்துக்கு உத்தரவிட வேண்டும் என கூறியிருந்தாா். கடந்த முறை இந்த வழக்கு விசாரணைக்கு வந்தபோது, நீதிபதி அருணா ஜெகதீசன் ஆணைய அறிக்கையின் அடிப்படையில் நடவடிக்கை எடுக்காதது ஏன் என நீதிபதிகள் கேள்வி எழுப்பியிருந்தனர். பின்னா் இது தொடா்பாக தமிழக அரசு விளக்கமளிக்க உத்தரவிட்டது. மேலும் வழக்கு விசாரணையை நவ. 17-ஆம் தேதிக்கு ஒத்திவைத்தனா். அதன்படி சென்னை உயர்நீதிமன்றத்தில் இந்த வழக்கு இன்று மீண்டும் விசாரணைக்கு வந்தது. அப்போது தூத்துக்குடி துப்பாக்கிச்சூடு தொடர்பாக அப்போதைய மாவட்ட ஆட்சியர், 17 காவல்துறை அதிகாரிகள், 3 வருவாய்த்துறை அதிகாரிகள் உள்ளிட்ட 21 பேருக்கு எதிராக நடவடிக்கை தொடங்கப்பட்டுள்ளதாக உயர்நீதிமன்றத்தில் தமிழ்நாடு அரசு விளக்கமளித்துள்ளது. இதையடுத்து வழக்கின் அடுத்தகட்ட விசாரணை டிசம்பர் 11ஆம் தேதிக்கு ஒத்திவைக்கப்பட்டது.
